Come celebrate Winery Wednesday with us as we feature Freja!
Freja Cellars is a second-generation, micro-winery at high elevation in the Chehalem Mountains AVA in the Willamette Valley. Planting of the vineyard began in the late 1980s, featuring own-rooted Pommard and Wadenswil Pinot noir vines on Laurelwood loess soils at 700-900 feet elevation, and the nine-acre site has been ecologically farmed by the Gianopulos family since. The fruit has been used exclusively for Freja wines since 1998, and all wines are grown, produced, and bottled on site with a light winemaking touch and no off-site fruit. The unfined, unfiltered Pinots are made with a focus on complexity, extended ageability, and pairing with great foods. The Albariño is acid- and mineral-driven with tropical aromas, a distinctive aromatic white wine in the Willamette Valley.
Winery Wednesday is an exclusive event series where we spotlight a different winery. Discover new flavors, meet the winery representative, and learn about the stories behind the bottles. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or a casual sipper, Winery Wednesday is the perfect opportunity to try newly discovered wines, before making the trip to wine country. Cheers to a new wine experience every week!
